The PIABC Level 2 Award in Clay Technology (QN: 603/5149/4) is a nationally recognised qualification that has been designed to provide learners with a basic introductory knowledge of clay as a material and the processing methods used to convert clay in to common products.

This qualification is appropriate for those working in non-manufacturing roles or those that are new to the industry and there are no specific entry qualifications for this qualification.

The qualification is comprised of four units:

1. Introduction to the clay manufacturing industry
2. Introduction to raw materials and clay preparation
3. Introduction to forming and setting
4. Introduction to drying and firing

This qualification is assessed through a 30-minute multiple-choice test.
